Frequently Asked Questions
Feel free to shoot me a question, and I’ll add my answer to this list.
What writing services do you provide?
I can write or help you write anything non-fiction. I don’t write fiction – except for my own pleasure!
Check out my portfolio, or visit my contently.com page to read dozens of my articles and blogs.
What do you charge?
That is a little like asking, “How long is a piece of string?” So much depends on the type of book and the number of pages/words. For instance, I charge more for a book containing 75,000 words than a 40,000-word book. Another factor is the stage of the book. For example, is it at the concept stage, or do you already have a draft manuscript? Okay, I can almost hear you crying out in frustration that no writer’s site will give you a clear answer, so let me try to provide you with a better idea. As a Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly bestselling ghostwriter, I am at the height of my profession. I have also been published in my own right by a top-tier publisher, so expect to pay more for my services than you would for a less-experienced writer. However, I am still moderately priced for someone with my level of experience. Given that somewhat lengthy preamble, my base fee is $1.35 per word.
Why hire a ghostwriter?
When you retain a professional ghostwriter, they will ensure your book is readable, accessible, and a page-turner. Ghostwriters are experts at capturing your voice so your book “sounds” like you. They are also experts at conceptualizing and structuring books.
Why are ghostwriters special?
It’s not their first rodeo; they know how to pull a book together. Also, they have an uncanny knack for capturing your story in your voice as they slip into the literary shadows.
Can’t I just write it myself?
Unless you can devote several hundred hours to your project and are an accomplished writer, it’s simply not a cost-effective use of your time. If you are not an electrician, would you attempt to re-wire your house? If you did, would you be confident you did it safely?
How can you help me?
Call me, and we can discuss your specific needs, but basically, I can help you conceptualize your book and write it based on your notes or interviews to get it designed and printed.
